The CurioDen Gel Refill & Accessory Pack is the replenishment SKU for our gel ant farm habitats: six sealed gel cartridges, six feeding pipettes, six magnifiers and a care card in one shelf-ready unit. Teachers reuse the same habitats and only need fresh media, so one pack refreshes six stations for roughly two dollars a station.

What’s included in the refill and accessory pack

6 sealed gel refill cartridges — the format used in the CurioDen gel units supplied with the Classroom Ant Farm Sets, foil-sealed and boxed.
6 feeding pipettes — for adding water and small amounts of food without disturbing the nest.
6 magnifying lenses — a simple 2x hand lens for behaviour and close-up journal sketches.
1 refill and care guide — cartridge swap, cleaning and troubleshooting for condensation or inactive colonies.
1 reusable storage pouch — keeps sealed spares, pipettes and lenses together.

Curriculum fit: long-run observation and feeding studies

A fresh cartridge resets the nest without a new habitat, so a teacher can repeat the same investigation with next year’s class and keep the hardware budget flat. Three uses fit naturally: life cycle and colony behaviour (how quickly a colony re-establishes tunnelling), ecosystems and controlled comparison (paired nests with different food or moisture treatments) and observation journaling (a clear start point for dated drawings and measurements).

No standards codes are printed on the pack. The care guide lists suggested grade bands and the questions each activity answers so teachers can map the material to their own district framework.

Classroom logistics: 5–10 minute refill, flat storage, predictable budget

A cartridge swap takes 5–10 minutes per station: remove the spent cartridge, seat the new one and add water to the marked line.
One pack refreshes six stations; two packs cover a full 12-unit set, making the annual budget easy to plan.
Flat, cool storage: the pack is approx. 24 × 18 × 12 cm and fits on a classroom shelf with the habitats.
Pairs with the classroom sets: order refills with a new set, or set up an annual standing order.

Ships without live ants: this pack contains no live ants and no habitat; colony sourcing guidance comes with the classroom sets, and some states restrict live ant import. We do not ship live ants. CPC and ASTM F963 test reports available on request. Country of origin: China; CurioDen is the seller and importer of record.

Wholesale tiers, distributor pricing and OEM

Refills are the highest-frequency reorder in a school account, which makes them the right SKU for a distributor’s annual replenishment catalogue:

1–9 packs	List price
10–49 packs	10% off list
50–199 packs	20% off list
200+ packs	Quoted per order
Distributors	50–55% off list; MOQ 500 packs

Wholesale refills, bulk classroom supplies and private label. Distributors can take the pack as a 24-pack case, combine it with Classroom Ant Farm Sets, and private-label the sleeve from 1,000 packs or the care card from 500; runs take 25–35 days after artwork approval.

For schools, budget one pack per six stations per school year and order it with the classroom set.

Frequently asked questions

Does the pack fit all CurioDen gel farms?

It uses the same sealed cartridge format as the CurioDen gel units, including those in the Classroom Ant Farm Sets. For earlier or third-party habitats, contact us with the model.

Are live ants included?

No. The pack ships without live ants, only gel cartridges and accessories. Some states restrict live ant import, so check state guidance before sourcing.

What does a refill cost per station?

One six-pack refreshes six stations, roughly two dollars per station at list price — the lowest-cost way to keep a classroom programme running.

Can we set up a standing order?

Yes. Schools and districts can request an annual or standing order through orders@curioden.com with a purchase order and fixed delivery window.
